 Course description. The course involves the translation of extracts from press articles on topics related to contemporary business and politics, from French into English. Texts are given to the students every week. The correction is done collectively in class the week after. Testing: There will be two exams during the semester. The first is before the mid-term holiday, the second at the end of the course. The final exam will be a translation of a text of about 300 words. Both American and British English are acceptable, as long as the student is consistent. Students are encouraged to bring French/English or English dictionaries to the class. Grammar guides are also welcome. The final exam will take place without a dictionary. Participation counts to your final grade: if you miss classes your final grade will be lowered.
